the status of the attic

Oh come on, you've been dying to know - don't try and hide it from me. You have been tossing and turning at night thinknig "What is Marika doing, I must know!" 

For the most part this winter has been amazingly mild and the weather so warm.  Strolling in  the quarter has been big.  Yesterday,  I spent a little longer than I had planned, which I guess happens when you run into friends and have the need to catch up.  I also stopped by the record store to see Scott, and for a few minutes I was in charge of the music that was filling part of Bourbon Street. I went with Blondie, because she's classic. 

I joined a writer's group.

I got a parking ticket, which kinda sucks. There was a time when I would've crumpled it up and thrown it away as a form of protest, but the last time I did that.  My car got booted. On December 23rd.  Okay, it was three tickets I crumpled up in protest, but you get the point.  I'm as "damn the man" as the next girl, maybe more so, but a car boot can weigh heavy on the pocketbook. So yeah, $20 is on it's way to The City of New Orleans.

I discovered that sometimes when you buy a really cute pair of earrings on etsy, when they arrive they can be even cuter then you imagine. With cute earrings you can conquer the world.

Mmmm... doesn't that look good?  I had yummy pizza with Karen. We are going to make voodoo dolls. Laugh if you want, but we have fabric and pins and you might just regret chuckling at our creativity.  As always with my evening with Karen, when her car pulled away I thought of a billion other things I had to tell her.  We're getting together again on Sunday. I'm thinking of making a list of all the things I want to tell her.

I've been working hard on CK. I have a whole new character, and I have to thank Alabaster Lisa from the OKC for her. I asked for a name and she gave me  so much more.  If you liked Emily's friends, I think you are really going to like her family.

I have four books I can't wait to read.

Now, I'm going to sweep.
